Pacific Northwest Regional FIRST Competition

Everyone made the trip to Portland safe and sound. The hotel reservations were pretty messed up, but fortunately Cathy arrived early with her dad and got the problems fixed before most of the group arrived.

Cathy's mom wanted to put her craft skills to work for the team, so she motivated getting a trinket-making party started. Kris's mom is also pretty crafty, so they took a vague description of what we were supposed to do with the parts and turned us into a trinket-making machine. A group of mostly parents made over a hundred trinkets throughout the course of the evening.

We had our first team meeting starting a little after 9:00 and made plans for unpacking the robot, getting through inspection, and starting the scouting effort. (The parents kept the trinket effort going while the rest of the team met.)
