Issaquah Robotics Log
2006 FIRST Competition

Build Period: Week 1 - Week 2 - Week 3 - Week 4 - Week 5 - Week 6
Competition Period: Pacific Northwest Regional - Fix-it Window - Davis/Sacramento Regional

After the ship deadline, we are somewhat restricted in what we can do with the robot, but we do get two "fit-it windows" each week that we can use to construct upgrade and replacement parts for our robot. We do not get posession of the robot during events, but can use things like the CAD model to design new parts.

We took good advantage of the fix-it windows, meeting twice a week to work on software improvements and robot upgrades.

We built bumpers to help protect our robot and add a little extra weight near the bottom to help us be even more stable.

We decided that a couple of the motors on the robot needed to be faster, so we ordered new gearboxes to use with different kit motors, and designed and fabricated mounting plates for the replacement motors.

The software team used last year's robot and a borrowed CMU cam to write software to position us to score during autonomous. It's working well and we hope to be able to adapt it to this year's robot when we get to the Davis regional.

The following pictures show our robot at the Pacific Northwest Competition (on the left) and at the Davis/Sacramento Regional (on the right). You can see the new bumpers and added height for catching balls.
